The Jupiter lighthouse is a local landmark as are many lighthouses. And why not? They are just beautiful! and everytime I cross the bridge by the lighthouse, I slow down and give an appreciative smile. Sorry to all the cars that have to slow down with me...Nearby the area bills itself as "The sailfish capitol of the world". With that in mind, it seemed quite logical to combine the two and that is why this painting really is two paintings in one. The upper with the lighthouse and the lower with the fishing boat and the sailfish. The water around the sailfish was extremely challenging and combines very fine detail with the bubbles mixed with broad, bold strokes with a very large brush to create the effect of water coming toward you.
